AMADOU SANOGO

Amadou Sanogo (Ségou, Mali, 1977), employs an abstract, deconstructed approach to analyzing the ethnic mores of Ségou, his hometown. His paintings are made on repurposed cloth from a local market; subject matter is created from medium. His hyper-deranged works have earned the artist features at a number of international auctions and galleries. Select exhibitions include Amadou Sanogo à Bamako, Atelier Badialan, Bamako, Mali (2017); Fables at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, London (2016); L’homme du present at the Institut français de Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (2014).
