Desktop steve bandoma

Born in 1981 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Lives and works in Kinshasa.

Steve Bandoma graduated from Kinshasa’s School of Fine Arts in 2004, where he was part of the Librisme Synergie collective. After moving to Cape Town, South Africa in 2005, his career progressed significantly. Bandoma’s practice involves several mediums and techniques, such as performance, photography, painting and collage. He produces his collages with images taken from magazines, giving these visuals a modern meaning and, as he says, “a new life”. Bandoma’s dynamic mix of techniques creates an aesthetic inspired by the hustle and bustle of Kinshasa, reflecting a new african society in constant evolution.
