London-based artist Becky Allen uses, pen, pencil, and needle to produce intricate pictures that tread the blurred line between reality and abstraction. Her often large-scale works explore the likenesses of different traditions. Her drawings gracefully engage observers with the notion of transformation, using stories from Nordic, Buddhist, Roman, Greek, and Hindu mythologies. Allen is the recipient of the Thirty for Thirty Buro Four Emerging Artist Award (2015) and the Augustus Martin Printmaking Award at the RCA (2013).
