London- and Berlin-based artists Adam Broomberg (born 1970, Johannesburg, South Africa) and Oliver Chanarin (born 1971, London, UK) form an artistic duo producing photographs, drawings, collages, and written material. Their portfolio reveals an omnipresent magical realism, though the effect is impressively subtle, as exemplified in their project Scarti. Themes such as loneliness and dimensional exploration recur, told through beautifully contrasted images. Together, Broomberg and Chanarin have had exhibitions at Tate, MoMA, Yale, Stedelijk, the V&A, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Baltimore Museum of Art.
