ADELINE DE MONSEIGNAT

Adeline de Monseignat (1987, Monaco) is a London-based artist whose practice consists mainly of installation art, sculpture, and drawing.  The artist is known for her primary thematic focus on origins, the body, and the uncanny.  As such, de Monseignat frequently uses materials that echo the human body in their strong, sensual, yet vulnerable qualities, such as eggshells, fur, fabric, and marble.  Brancusi, Bourgeois and the Surrealists are among de Monseignat's inspirations.  De Monseignat focuses a great deal on birth, nature, and bringing the inanimate to life.  There is no doubt that de Monseignat is among the best famous female artists alive today.
