Angki Purbandono (Ceipring, Indonesia, 1971) looks to activate the napping potential of photography from his home base in Yogyakarta. He's noted for his unique approach to scan art, pictures made from scanning objects with a flatbed scanner. Taking photographs with a flatbed scanner reduces their depth of field, making Purbandono's images unusually vivid and intricate. His work has been featured at Transformatorhuis, Amsterdam (2017); National Gallery of Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia (2016); Wanpanbon Cultural Center, South Korea (2015).
