Ivan Perera (Havana, Cuba, 1992) is a Havana-based artist who uses novel material such as human remains, books, photographs, and other documents in order to explore the structural representation of history. The baseline of his work being history as speculation rather than a matter of fact, Perera's objects are often deformed in order to create new meaning. An example is in his photography book Inert Diary, a collection of 365 pictures pierced by a gunshot, the violence forming new aleatoric images.
