Robert Rauchenberg

Robert Rauschenberg (Port Arthur, Texas, 1925 - 2008) was a prolific American painter and graphic artist considered among the most influential artists of the 20th century. A forerunner to abstract expressionism, Rauschenberg's practice involved combinations of various non-traditional objects and materials patently combined, primarily through his sculptures and paintings. Rauschenberg’s innovations to the field of art production are immeasurable, and he has inspired artists of the world after him to experiment often, without hesitation. His works are held at the Tate Gallery in London and The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
