"In 2013, Feldmeyer was exhibited at the Photographers’ Gallery, Britain’s largest gallery devoted entirely to photography. "

This work is part of Evigheden, a series of seven black and white silver gelatin digital prints. They are part of an ongoing exploration of space, light and abstraction by artist Nicolas K Feldmeyer. Hard edges and crystalline structures give rise to complex and ambiguous spatial relationships in these abstract yet atmospheric images. The title of the series was inspired by H.C. Andersen's "The Snow Queen". In this tale a little boy is given the overwhelming task to construct the word Evigheden (Danish for eternity) out of ice fragments.

Born in: Europe

Nicolas Feldmeyer (Switzerland, 1980) is a Zurich-based artist who received an MFA with distinction from the Slade (2012). His choice of media includes art prints, short videos, and miniature postcard collages. Taking inspiration from ancient Eastern teachings and the tenets of European romance, Feldmeyer weaves storied pictures told through geometrical landscapes. Viewers can find within his works an earnest desire to send or receive a message unrelatable through language.
