Victoire Thierrée is fascinated by the intricate link to the history of humanity found with weapons of war. This anthropological aspect is predominant in her projects and here with her photography, Thierrée works with metal inspired by the forms of military aeronautics, creating sculptures that she then photographs.

VICTOIRE THIERRÉE

Born in: France

Since 1914, Victoire Thierrée has been covering painting and camouflage as used in military aeronautics. Military impressions are replete in her works; pictures of transformation, specifically ways in which the human body can be made into a destructive machine, through genesis or manipulation. Thierrée studied painting at the Beaux-Arts Paris and the Gobelins. Her works have been featured in Abstract Rendering, a group exhibition at Collectionair.
