JOSÉ PEDRO CROFT

Born in: Europe

José Pedro Croft (Porto, 1957) is a Lisbon-based artist credited for renewing the practice of sculpture in Portugal. A draughtsman and sculptor, his original artwork is deeply suggestive of relationship dynamics subject to linear time. His sculptures are shockingly self-exploratory and seemingly curious, exploring their own material construction and how it relates to the environment around them. Various galleries have featured Croft, including: La Caixa Foundation (Spain), Berardo Foundation (Portugal), and Sammlung Albertina (Austria).
