Born in: Japan

Tomoyuki Ueno was born in Kobe, Japan in 1982. He completed a Master of inter media arts at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2008 and then finished a Master Degree of Art and Design at Berlin University of the Arts with DAAD and also Pola Art Foundation scholarship. The artist lives and works in Berlin since 2009. Tomoyuki is always trying to break new ground in spatial arts by working with different materials and objects, such as laser pointers, mirrors, metal and even living animals, such as butterflies. He manages to combine these different materials and mediums and put them in a remarkable context. Recently, Tomoyuki become interested in borders. His most recent exhibition was PAT, that took place this year at Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art.
