KIYOMI AND TETSUHIRO UOZUMI

Born in: Japan

Japanese artists Kiyomi and Tetsuhiro Uozumi form an artistic duo in collaboration since 2004, being based in Berlin since 2007. Working primarily through installation, their pieces show interesting uses of light, often shone dimly in overlooked angles. The process is ideal in telling their stories, which are inherently oblique, demanding repeated viewing. Kiyomi and Uozumi show a deep interest in anonymity; there's a suggestion that anonymity is an overlooked concept, occupying an important space in the collective psyche. Galleries having featured their original artwork include the MUMoK in Vienna, LAD Galley in Nagoya, Mediations Biennale 2016 in Poznań.
