Luis Nobre's (Lisbon, 1971) drawings and paintings uniquely feature the line as a historic memento of nature. His striking pictures awaken notions of fragmentation, the effect being accented by his cinematographic line work. Survival is often revisited throughout Nobre's works, narrated brilliantly over various geographical landscapes. His art reminds observers that spontaneous illustration can occur in any number of settings, depicting any number of things. Nobre was featured in solo shows at Galeria Carlos Carvalho, Lisbon (2011); Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis, Porto (2010); Location 1, New York (2008).
