Maryam Hosseini (Iran, 1988) is a Chicago-based artist whose work shows an inspiration taken from iconic horror movies throughout the decades. There is also a clear respect paid to the art historical canon, specifically Surrealist art and its godfather, Salvador Dali. Despite her body of work being personal (sourced from a cluster of experiences and interests accumulated throughout her life), observers relate instantly to her subjects and are given free reign to immerse themselves. Hosseini's work has been featured at numerous auctions and galleries, including Touch Gallery, Frank Pages, and Mah Art Gallery.
