Sika’s approach to photography consists of building an image rather than just capturing one, shooting in a cinematographic way and creating out of the ordinary scenes. His vibrant works are influenced by Ivorian popular culture and contemporary painting.

Paul SIka (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) is a self-taught photographer known for his "one-frame films". Inspired by his experience as a software engineering student living in London, specifically his discovery of a trailer for "Matrix 2: Reloaded", he started experimenting with photography upon his return to Ivory Coast in 2006. His pictures are unmistakably psychedelic, throbbing with layered movement and extra-dimensional color. Sika has been shown in such galleries as Chinua Achebe Center, New York (2009); Galerie Le Lab, Abidjan (2008).
