Kirsty Harris b.1978 Lives and works in London.
Harris’s practice examines the notion of nuclear explosions as cultural, historical and iconic symbols. She reference the scale, beauty and the abhorrent nature of the mushroom clouds whilst also mining the periphery of the subject - its surrounding myths, evidence and equipment.
Kirsty’s first solo exhibition in an institution - How I Learned to Stop Worrying (1945-2016) closed earlier in the year at the CFCCA in Manchester. She has shown work in galleries such as, Islington Mill, Ruskin Gallery, Vane Gallery, Transition Gallery, Bankley Gallery, The Tetley, Mall Galleries, Wysing Arts Centre, Lubomirov/ Angus Hughes Gallery and Whitechapel Gallery.
