Amir Kamand (Iran, 1960), one of Iran's noteworthy outsider artists, injects a textured life experience into his sculptures. His career runs through several branches; he worked in metal machining and plastic molding injection, established a plastic manufacturing plant, went to work in clothing, began skiing and boxing, and started a vacuuming workishop in Tabriz. Starting out with wax before moving on to wood as a preferred material, Kamand's sculptures are reflections of his intimate memories, somehow made relatable for beholders. His original artwork were presented in the Second Annual Outsider Art Exhibition in Laleh Gallery, Tehran.
