Filio Galvez (Havana, Cuba, 1987) is an independent artist based in Miami. Galvez uses past images (such as photographs and posters) to produce his drawings. The artist's canvases range from paper to public urban walls. He works with New York-based artist Andrew Antonaccio to form 2alas, a collective known for its iconic Miami wall art. Galvez has been featured in group exhibitions at “Outside In”, Art and Culture Center in Hollywood, FL (2017); “Cuban Fried Chicken”, MAC Fine Art, Fort Lauderdale, FL (2016); “Cual es tu necesidad”, El Arsenal, La Havana, Cuba, (2015).

Education

Galvez studied at the Academy of Fine Art in San Alejandro, Havana, Cuba (2002-04) and at the New World School of the Arts, Miami, FL (2009-12).
