Ernesto Domecq is a Havana-based independent artist. Deeply tied to his home of Cuba and the power struggles his country faces, Domecq's work is imbued with the hardships of everyday life and the notion of having to struggle to survive. Using his skill as a draftsman and the public space as his background, Domecq produces acutely-rendered drawings invoking the Cuban military, consumer ideology, and matters related to technology. He has exhibited his original artwork in a number of museums and galleries in Cuba, as well as in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
