Yoanny Aldaya is a Havana-based independent photographer working alongside fellow artists in the collective f8. His original artwork often features heavy fables of the difficulties faced by islanders. The effect from his pictures is entirely unique, notably due to the addition of punk aesthetics where their application would be considered unconventional. His photographs are decorated by celebratory physical expressions, piercing lighting, and a collective drama. Aldaya has been featured in such galleries as

Aldaya won the First Prize of the Room Art International Festival, Rome (2010).
