Karl Isakson (Sweden, 1983) earned both his BFA and MFA at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts. Known for his sculptures, photography, and installations, Isakson's works often take a tongue-in-cheek look at the banality of everyday life, as exemplified in pictures like Watching Mr. Sonoda drink a glass of water (one minute and two seconds). Despite the irony he relates, there's also a clear appreciation for the infinitesimal detail in every frame of life. Isakson has been shown at Jesperbrochmandsgade, Copenhagen, Denmark (2017); Arti et Amicitiae, Amsterdam, Netherlands (2016); National Gallery, Prague, Czech Republic (2015).
