Alan Charlton (Sheffield, England (1948) is a London-based Minimalist artist known for his gray paintings and installations. Charlton's pictures often comprise the modular elements of a single rectangle, triangle, or other geometric forms. He has been painting monochrome gray images exclusively since he began gaining recognition in 1970, originally choosing gray for the mutability stored beneath its ordinary surface. Exhibition highlights include Annely Juda Fine Art, London (2017); Walter Storms Galerie, Munich; Johyun Gallery, Busan (2009).
