Bernard Aubertin (Fontenay-aux-Roses, France, 1934 - 2015) was a conceptual artist whose first works included the burning of books, paintings, and other objects. Aubertin eventually met artist Yves Klein, who guided him toward the abstract arts. The color red is a dense, personal base in his works, emblematic of his fascination with fire and its effect on a beholder. Aubertin’s work was shown at Galerie Jean Brolly, Paris (2012); Galleria CIDAC Arte, Brescia, Italy (2006); Galerie Wack, Kaiserslautern, Germany (2000).
