Thérèse Bonnelalbay (Hérault, France) was a visual artist and art brut contributor. Most of her working time was spent as nurse, and dedicated mother, though her drawings always served as an enjoyable hobby. Thanks to the support and encouragement from her family, Bonnelalbay drew progressively more, steadily making a name for herself among Europe's outsider artists. Her pictures almost always numb the mind, from the minimalistic depictions of the physical curves and angles under-running everyday activity, to the deeply enigmatic sketches of simulacra captioned by her imaginary alphabet. Bonnelabay’s work is featured at the Christian Berst Art Gallery. Bonnelalbay drowned tragically in 1980 after a disappearance.
