Misleidys Castillo Pedroso (Cuba, 1985) is an art brut artist contributing her drawings and paintings to the genre. The artist has led a life of isolation, her severe congenital hearing deficiency leaving her with difficulty communicating in real time. Her pictures have become her form of language; meaningful allegories told through mythological subjects and stories. Aside from her intimate thoughts, the artist's work reveals her unique visual perception of the world through the depicted morphed body parts ranging enormously in size. She has been featured in Christian Berst Art Brut at NADA, Miami Beach (2014).
