Aside from being an important Art Brut artist in his own right, Michel Nedjar (Val d'Oise, 1947) is known for exposing numerous artists in the genre over the past 30 years. As a creator, Nedjar's inspiration came in waves early in his adolescence as he became aware of the losses his family experienced during the Holocaust. After spending some time traveling through Asia and Mexico, Nedjar began creating the first dolls of his signature "soul flesh" series; mutilated bodies made of rags, rope, and feathers. His works have been featured in numerous international auctions and galleries.
