Mehrdad Pournazarali (Iran, 1980) is a Tehran-based artist whose original artwork shows a deep appreciation for the tribal images that adorn Iranian mythology. His paintings and drawings seem to vibrate in their stillness, as if the artist's canvases contain these scenes from Iranian lore as they might have taken place. Pournazarali has taken part in numerous group exhibitions such as Total Arts Gallery in Dubai, Sixth and Seventh Tehran Contemporary Painting Biennial, and more. He has had one solo exhibition at Dastan’s Basement (2014).
