João Pedro Vale (Lisbon, 1976) is a Lisbon- and New York-based artist known for his sculptures, having studied sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. His works have been featured in collections at Tate, Serralves Foundation, and the National Contemporary Art Museum of Chiado. Nuno Alexandre Ferreira (Torres Vedras, 1973) is also based in Lisbon and New York, having studied Sociology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He was occupied by his solo productions and commissions until he began collaborating with João Pedro Vale in 2004. Together, the Portuguese artists have formed a production duo specializing in experimental films. They also head P-Town, a queerzine that covers blurred LGBT themes under the umbrella of “portugueseness”.
