Carla Chaim (Brazil, 1982) is a São Paulo-based artist who toys with aleatoric processes, experimenting with the rigidity of her form to find artful, random results. Her often humorous sculptures and installations are seductive in their oblique scale, attracting the viewer by keeping them constantly off balance. Her original artwork shows a sense of control in the liberties she takes, yet there's admirable abandon at play - an allowance to let the forces of nature dictate her work. Chaim's art has been featured in numerous galleries and institutions, being part of collections such as Ella Fontanals – Cisneros, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Itamaraty, Brazil.
