Hector Prats (1987) is a Spanish artist distinct for producing solemn drawings cast in unpierceable shadow. Through his original artwork, Prats produces a collision between the rational and magical world. His aesthetic present a deep contrast between complete darkness and the subjects it casts forward. Samples include a gloved hand producing a candle's flame, an owner holding his sombre dog, and a mental asylum patient strapped onto a bed, with shards of visible content bursting from his mind. Prats' work has been shown in several international exhibitions, such as the Mostra da 17th Bienal de Cerveira, Carpe Diem Art and Research, Lisbon; II Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, Moscow.

“"[The] exercise of compilation and classification is the starting point of my creative process, where I create connections between distant images and concepts related to my interests."” - HECTOR PRATS
