Adelino Vasco Mendonça AKA Mendonça (Mozambique, 1966) is a self-taught artist whose drawings take inspiration from his daily life in Mozambique. Mendonça's pictures, though mainly minimal, suggest constellations of history and meaning. There is a subtle implication that, within the confines of current life in Mozambique and the history that lead to it, there exists an inexhaustible well of untold stories. He contributed some of his 2016 original artwork to the Contemporary African Art Collection, a private collection funded by Jean Pigozzi.
Mendonça has been exhibited at the Bienniale of Telecomunições de Moçambique and Casa da Cultura do Alto-Mae in Maputo.
Mendonça graduated from the Higher Institute of Art and Culture (ISARC)
Mendonça was given the award for best artist at the Bienniale of Telecomunições de Moçambique (2015).
