Elnaz Javani is a multimedia artist whose sculptures, drawings, installations, and photographs incorporate everyday materials, such as fabric and thread. She uses these as part of her arsenal in an endeavor to sort out such themes as fragmentation, vulnerability, loss, and identity. Her work, which ranges from absurd to ultrarealistic, invites the viewer to rethink the banality of everyday objects. Javani is part of Enjavi-Barbe Art Projects, an organization that works to introduce emerging Iranian contemporary artists to the global community, and she has shown her works at Dealing with People, commissioned by CAC Ses Voltes International Residency Program, in collaboration with Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, Mallorca, Palma, Spain (2013).

““My fears keep me in the studio, working and exorcising fear. I have to reassure myself again and again; all the time, how I can conquer fear. The fears are those “things” that I’m trying to find the answers to in my work.”” - ELNAZ JAVANI
