The drawings, paintings, and collages of Balint Zsako (Budapest, Hungary, 1979) express a dizzying imagination. Having had a nomadic childhood spent living in Hungary, West Germany, and Canada, Zsako capitalized on the examples set by his sculptor father and texture artist mother. The humans and wild animals in his works are often bound or woven together, interspersed with floral overgrowth, skeletons, or others like them. Zsako's work can be found in museum collections around the world, including MONA, Tasmania and the Glenbow Museum, Calgary.
Zsako received his BFA in Photography from Ryerson University, Toronto.
Zsako was long listed for The Sobey Award, Canada (2014).
