Paul SIka (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) is a self-taught photographer known for his "one-frame films". Inspired by his experience as a software engineering student living in London, specifically his discovery of a trailer for "Matrix 2: Reloaded", he started experimenting with photography upon his return to Ivory Coast in 2006. His pictures are unmistakably psychedelic, throbbing with layered movement and extra-dimensional color. Sika has been shown in such galleries as Chinua Achebe Center, New York (2009); Galerie Le Lab, Abidjan (2008).
“"Simply put, I would say that the African Dream is the promise from life itself that, as an African, if you follow its real and essential laws, you will surely realize your dream."”
Sika has been shown in such galleries as Chinua Achebe Center, New York (2009); Galerie Le Lab, Abidjan (2008).
